saf Posted March 28, 2022 Share Posted March 28, 2022 I'm not sure this is art, but... We wanted to see what the Smithsonian had done to the Arts and Industries building. So off we go today, after a stop at the Hirshhorn. Hadn't been in here since it was the reproduction of the 1876 centennial exhibit. Love the building though. We had heard that the "Futures" exhibit was only OK, but it was a chance to see the inside of the building again. the building restoration is still a work in progress, but it is looking good. I hope they continue to make progress, because it really is an important part of American museum history. Also, beautiful place. But if you are a nerd, especially of the science fiction fan type, this is well worth seeing. We had a blast, and I texted a TON of pics to my brother, an even more nerdy person. And I live with a patent examiner, so you KNOW we are nerds in this house! The art incorporated in this exhibit is cool, the artifacts are even cooler, and the exhibit design is excellent.
