saf
Anyone got good ideas for food in Ivy City these days? So many places seem to have closed, and the smokehouse has no reservations available. Probably going to be 6 or 7 of us on Saturday evening. Not horribly expensive but doesn't need to be cheap either. A few non-seafood folks in the group. Bart
Panda Gourmet is very close. Don't know if that's what you're looking for as far as cuisine goes, but I was there about a month ago on a Saturday night and just showed up (no reservations) and there were plenty of open tables. I used the DR thread as a guide. Dean Gold posted some very detailed reviews of large meals with multiple dishes. If you go, I'd skip their "signature" "burger" dish that's described on the first page of the menu. It was ok, but didn't live up to the write up.
lhollers
I know it's nothing new or special, but the meals we've had at Via Ghibellina have been great.
saf
Thanks folks. Panda is a lovely idea, but as we didn't want to move cars, we ended up at Via Ghibellina. It was tasty. I'll write about it in the correct thread.
