DinerGirl
In my day job, one of my clients is Dunkin/Baskin-Robbins, so I wanted to share this event listing with you in the hopes that you'll come out, eat some ice cream, and support your local firefighters: On Wednesday, May 2 from 5 - 10 p.m., Baskin-Robbins is hosting 31 Cent Scoop Night to benefit local firefighters. Every Baskin-Robbins store in the Washington, D.C. area has partnered with a local fire station or fire-related charity who will be on site that evening to collect donations from the community. On a national level, Baskin has donated $100,000 to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Local firefighters (and their trucks and gear) will be on-hand at local area DC Baskin-Robbins stores to help educate individuals and famililes about fire safety and prevention. Stores within the city limits are as follows: 1511 17th Street, NW 2604 Connecticut Avenue, NW 801 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE There are more than 70 Baskin-Robbins stores in the greater DC area. Demvtr
And, uh, just because Baskin-Robbins may never, ever come up again on this board, I want to say that I worked at Baskin-Robbins in Reston in high school, and it was far and away the best job I ever had. Writing on cakes is more fun than writing briefs.
