Al Dente
If you're looking to get away from the city for a day trip, head out to Shepherdstown WV and hit the farmer's market behind the library on Sunday mornings. There are usually 8 or 10 vendors, most of them kinda hippy dippy, selling produce, bread, and cheese. Then walk down to The Lost Dog, an excellent coffee shop and have a cappuccino. There are some good lunch options in this quaint little village as well. Have a pizza at Three Onions, or a burger at the Yellow Brick Bank. I think this is one of the best day trips in the area. Give it a try, it's only about 90 mins away. And on a hot summer's day, you can stop off in Harper's Ferry and take a relaxing inner tube ride down the Shenandoah.
