ol_ironstomach Posted February 19, 2008 Share Posted February 19, 2008 New owners convert West Virginia arctic char farm, the only one east of the Mississippi, to raise salmon instead. This was a really interesting operation. Arctic char are in the salmon family, and the most northern-ranging freshwater fish in the world. They need cold water, and West Virginia Aqua had developed a facility that could raise them inland using very cold spring water from old coal mines. Slide show here.
