Is there anywhere in the area with a decent selection of mezcal? Or where I could at least purchase something other than Monte Alban?

Anyone know where I can get fresh lemongrass in the District? I didn't expect it to be so hard to find, but so far I've struck out at Giant, Safeway, and Whole Foods.

Hi, my name is Kelley and I've become a bit of a cocktail geek lately. I am starting to play around with making my own bitters and infusions to go along with collecting (ever more expensive) liquor. I've found this board to be a great distraction from my day job in the past few weeks, and also a good source of knowledge about where to eat.

I'm originally from smack in the middle of Iowa, and came to DC in a roundabout way via Florida, Illinois, and Indiana. I've lived in DC for about three years and currently reside in the U St area.

None of my friends can understand why in the world I would want to make my own tonic to mix with my gin. I think they're misguided.
