Ah! By raw you mean freshly picked, not the dried version in the grocery stores. You will probably have to order them. Try here.
This is exactly what I mean! Thanks so much!

The green ones? Which stores have these?

To clarify, I'm looking for raw walnuts in the shell...

I really want to recreate the sweet pickled walnuts I had at Mourayo. I found a recipe on davidgreggory.com that looks promising. The question is where do I find raw walnuts around here?

Feeding the Spirit: Museums, Food and Community
Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and the Carnegie Museum of Art
Pittsburgh, Oct. 13
Register at http://futureofmuseums.org/events/lecture/2011symposium.cfm
Convened in collaboration with Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, Association of Children’s Museums and American Public Gardens Association.
The symposium Feeding the Spirit: Museums, Food & Community will bring together leading movers and shakers from inside and outside the field.
• How can museums help provide their communities with the information and resources they need to be more “literate” about food?
• How can museums bring their food services into alignment with values about health, sustainability and equity, while improving their own bottom line?
• How can museums use food to reach new audiences and forge stronger ties with their communities?
Speakers, panelists and participants will work together to generate a national resource guide to share with the field, helping build a compendium of best practices, case studies and exciting ideas. Museums can change the world—if we all band together to build a better and healthier future.
