I'm a big fan of Ize's bagels in Rockville near the White Flint Metro -

 

I'm not surprised the Rockville location closed  - I live nearby and visited just once and swore never again.

The service we experienced was terrible - we dropped in during the middle of the afternoon when it was mostly empty and were greated with a "do you have a reservation?" and an exasperated groan when we said we did not.  We received our meals OK but the server never offered to refill our drinks or check on us; we had intended to order dessert but when the bill was just dropped on us without asking if we'd like anything else we took it as our cue to leave and never came back.

I love their dumplings - I often stop at the Pike & Rose market on Saturdays and they are my go-to for lunch there, my personal fav is their chicken and asparagus.  They say they use quality ingredients like organic chicken and they certainly taste great.

My name is Elizabeth, I'm a  long time lurker who figured it was about time I contributed.  I grew up near Philadelphia but moved down to Montgomery County years back to work for NIH and am currently with NIAMS (Arthritis Institute) and live in North Bethesda.  Not a great cook though Penzey's has really helped improve my game but I  love to eat out though I am usually limited by my budget to the more affordable bites and really appreciate the recommendations. I don't really know anybody "in the business" aside from I knew Andy Myers way back when he worked at Zenith comics and am proud of how far he's come!
