I really like Sona a lot - sorry to hear it was dead on a Saturday night. I remember a nice cauliflower dish, and a couple good cheeses and glasses of wine. You're right - it is way too easy to rack up the bill. Still, I'd probably be a regular (or at least a semi-one) if I lived nearby.

I completely agree on the desserts. I was surprised that I had to open a package - maybe someone mentioned that up thread and I just didn't see it. We went for the first time last Sunday - 6:30 res and no one was waiting when we got there - nor when we left, for that matter, although the line for Milk Bar was out the door. We didn't get to try much since we were with some non-sharers. The cold noodles were delicious and spicy, and satisfied my craving for the spicy sausage that comes with the rice cakes at Ssam Bar. The catfish was also good. Definitely would go back to try more.

I don't think it's been mentioned, but I like the black bean burger at Joe's Burgers in McLean. Texture might not work for you, though - it doesn't quite fall apart, but it's awfully close. 

I've been a few times  - although it has been over a year since I was there last. Her staff will likely be sorely disappointed after Restaurant Eve (!) but it's a nice place with good food and good service. We usually go with the specials, and in the 4-5 times we've eaten there, never had a clunker. Nothing really mind-blowing, either, though. My only complaint might be that the portions are too big (but I know most people consider that a weird complaint.) It's very much a neighborhood joint, fwiw (not a dive, but lots of regulars, I mean.)
