I have the Anova, got it about a year and half ago. I find that what I use it most often for is when I decide I want steak for dinner, but haven't defrosted one. I can put it a couple steaks form the freezer in a gallon ziploc with some garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper and thaw it out straight to medium rare doneness before throwing on the grill or pan fry for nice crust on the outside. Its as simple as you can get with a rotary wheel to set temperature and that's it. I haven't used the app yet. I like the smallness of the Joule, but having to get the phone out to operate it seems unnecessarily complicated for something that shouldn't be.
Do you just extend the cook time (double the time?) for the frozen steaks? Been interested in this aspect of the sous vide but haven't gone from freezer directly to the water.

I can't believe I'd recommend this, but my favorite meal here is brunch. I've made it a semi-regular habit to go and get the huevos rancheros. It can come topped with brisket (or I guess any meat) for no additional charge, but this feature is inexplicably not listed on the menu. The queso, runny egg and other sauces mix great with the brisket, which is chopped. Doesn't hurt that there are cheap drinks ($5 bloody mary).
The huevos rancheros with brisket is amazing and will bring you back to life if you had a rough night the day before.

Agree with the OP, decent meal, ordered a lot of the menu with our group of 4 but the service was pretty bad, the waiter just losing track of the time between starters and mains and not checking in with getting refills of drinks. Manager actually apologized and gave us 20% off, so at least they realized they messed up.

Good burger but nothing special in my opinion. Servers were super cranky which I actually enjoyed and fit in with the establishment. CASH ONLY. Fries were average.
Actually went back last time I was up and had a much better burger, fries (chips) were still average, but the burger is definitely worth it.

Had the hot chicken last time I was here and it was how it should be, spiciness that just keeps building. I personally liked the smoked fried chicken better but the hot chicken is a good switch up if you can handle the heat.

One sidenote, if you arrive at noon- everyone stands for the Star Spangled Banner ,going along with the mission. Know it is going to happen and it is less odd.
Really like this spot, but this makes me come in around 11am or after 12pm. It is so weird to have to stop your lunch to stand for the star spangled banner. It's like you are in elementary school all over again. Their BBQ is good for the area and I get their whole deal and it's a great business decision for them.

I think it is included in the normal Amazon Prime membership, which I would bet a lot of members already have. Looks like they are giving away $10 too to first time users in the area, I just need to find something to buy now.

Hello everyone! Long time lurker and figured now is the time to finally get an account. Have a couple friends that are in the industry around town so they tend to lead me around food and drink wise. I would say my beer would be my specialty so hopefully I can help out with those questions.

Costco has a 24 pack for I believe $14.99 (or pretty close to that ) and it has in the past been included in the monthly coupon discounts. Prefer Spindrift to La Croix. I saw a tea and lemon Spindrift at Sweetgreen but didn't end up buying it. Anyone on here try it?
