I saw this just today, at Cornucopia, an Italian specialty shop/deli on Norfolk Ave. in Bethesda. I hadn't been in there in ages, since my daughter stopped taking guitar lessons nearby. The owner is a lovely man (his name escapes me at the moment) who used to work for Dean and Deluca. There are a number of different Italian dried pastas there that I have not seen elsewhere. Warning: very expensive. Also seen--dried cannellini and borlotti beans, also expensive. Lovely prosciutto, and of course he's got the hand-crank slicer. Also on offer today was Italian buffalo milk ricotta.
Awesome!!!!
I'll pay a visit when I get a chance

While visiting NYC, I found some Setaro branded pappardelle pasta in one of the Italian specialty store in the Chelsea Market and they were AMAZING!
the company's website is http://www.setaro.it/
I've since found an specialty Italian online store that has it, but they are 2x-3x as what I paid in NYC
Has anyone seen this anywhere in the DC area ?
Thanks!
the package looks like this :
NYMag Mentioned it earlier here in case you're wondering what's so good about it.
BTW.. can someone with the rights correct the spelling on the topic line ? ;(

I had truly amazing Fried Clamari at La Tabernadel Alabardero in DC.
A very authentic Spanish restaurant.
the place is on the pricey side, but if I remember correctly, they had half off tapas at the bar happy hour every weekday

bf and I went to I Ricchi during the restaurant week 2007.
It's been a few weeks since we went, so my memory is a bit hazy but I do remember this:
The service was decent but the food was another story.
For my entree I got the jumbo grilled shrimp skewer with bell pepper and polenta.
The shrimp was chewy, presentation was insipid and the bell pepper even came with the produce sticker. urgh
Oh yeah, the sparkling water was served tepid, a big no-no.
To be fair, we were happy with the calamari (just not the price) appetizer we ordered on the side.
Think we'll put this restaurant on our blacklist for a while.

Any recommendations for moderately priced ($30~50pp) place that can accommodate 15 this Friday evening ?
Anywhere in the greater DC area is fine, no preference on type of cuisine, but there will be a 1 yr old baby in the company.
Thanks
