  1. I stopped in here at lunchtime last week. I ordered the tonshio ramen without additions, and the broth had a great flavor with a hint of fresh ginger. The pork slice was still a little tough and not as fatty as I prefer. The lunch set option during the week includes your choice of ramen with an add-on small bowl of rice with stewed pork on top for $3.50. It was nice to see that the vegetable ramen option was made with kombu and was truly vegetarian. The price is pretty high, but for Japanese ramen, it was the best bowl I've had in the area in ages. Additionally, Ren's Ramen is cash-only.

  2. I was there Monday night and shared the sardines, arugula salad, roasted monkfish and whole grilled bronzino. I agree the sardines could have used a few more minutes on the grill but they still enjoyable. The monkfish was perfectly roasted and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I'm looking forward to going back, and definitely want to try the softshell now.

  3. I wanted to love it, and will try again another time. I had the lobster roll and the fried clams, and friends tried the Maine meal with bay scallops, pollock and fried shrimp. The hush puppies were odd. The macaroni and cheese had the right amount of cheese and no odd aftertaste. Sweet potato fries were quite good, and everyone enjoyed the fried clams. The lobster roll, was not as good as Hanks, and the fries were not crispy enough. The interior is a marked improvement, and the staff was really nice.
