  1. Anyone heard anything/been to Nostalgie Bistro in the King Farm section of Rockville? It's going to be my first experience with Russian/Georgian food (except my grandmother's borscht) and could use some help!

    Thanks!

  2. Also seen in MoCo at Praline Bakery, and at St. Michel Bakery.

But these are all of the French variety, which wikipedia tells me is used to celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany. Or are you looking for the Louisiana type associated with Mardi Gras?

yes, the traditional Mardi Gras variety... Thanks

  3. I've bought them before from the bakery at Praline in Bethesda. 4611 Sangamore Rd., 301-229-8180.

I second the vote for Praline in Bethesda... They are the closest I've had to Laudree... They had set up shop at the Rockville Farmers Market at the courthouse parking lot on Saturdays and I believe they are scheduled to be there this season as well...the RFM opens on 5/16 at 9am... They sell a variety package at their stand

  4. I am always on the lookout for a place to stop on the way to the Delaware Beaches. Harris' Crab House used to be our go to spot but the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up!

Holly's right after the Kent Narrows bridge is a little scary looking from the outside but inside is warm and welcomming...and the fried chicken is legendary. Burgers and sandwiches are also great. Low prices and excellent food...wouldn't think of going to the beach without stopping there first-

  5. Where is a good place to source pork belly in suburban MD?

Korean Corner in Silver Spring makes an excellent spicy marinated pork belly. We threw it on the grill this evening and it was really really good...the kalbi ribs ate also supurb on the grill

  6. We don't get to Annapolis as much as we do Balt. and DC, so we are unfamiliar with the scene...need a brunch spot for a Sunday in June... Please no buffet but traditional is good...seafood items (like a Crab Benedict) a plus...water view or at least outdoor seating preferred...any ideas? Thanx!
