We went to Hank's on the Hill earlier this week. Food was terrific, but I did have one gripe. As advised, we called 20 minutes before arriving to get our party of 4 on the wait list. 3 of us were dropped off and the 4th went to park. Because our party was not complete, they did not seat us, but did seat a party of 3 at a 4 top, which came in after us. our 4th showed up minutes after this but we ended up waiting a good 25 minutes for a table. I can understand if a party is coming in, in dribs and drabs, but we were pseudo complete.

does anyone know if Little Serow offers a vegetarian option (no meat, but seafood is fine)?

I apologize in advance for not reading everything, but what is the corkage policy?
I can tell you abt my experience w/ Cordoroy's Corkage policy- it was not a good one. I wanted to make a reservation for 8 for a birthday dinner. I emailed well in advance of the date (to the contact us part of their website) and inquired abt corkage, since several of the guests have very nice wine collections, and asked abt bringing celebratory bottles. I got no response to my emails (2 of them), so i called the restaurant and was told that regardless of the size of the party, only 1 bottle was allowed. i was hoping we could bring 2, but the young lady answering the phone said that was the policy. we went elsewhere.

all coffee took a hike in price . it is a commodity item and everyone was hit.

Finally! Arlington has a fabulous bakery. Buzz is creative, innovative (the lemony whole wheat poptart put Kellog's to shame), and cute. it will take great restraint to not make a bee line after every workout at Gold's.

Curious, why do you feel the concept is clever?
Mediocre food aside, I do not like the concept, especially when you are with a group of people. Depending on which line one stands in, food is ready at staggered times. if you want to eat together, chances are someone(s) will be eating less than hot food.

I just read in Arlington Now that Slavin's closed its doors. aside from the user unfriendly parking lot/location, we always had good luck there. Prices seemed reasonable, and fish was good. Now where?????

According to this afternoon's Facebook page (Save the Westover Beer Garden), there was a meeting today btwn the owner and the county, and their license was rescinded for even the 9 person occupancy! they have to comply or 30 days, or face fines. It is truly a shame that a small business that is trying to breathe life into a community asset, is having such a difficult time with the county. this is not the Arlington way!

are you aware that they are having issues w/ the county and licensing? there is a "Save the Westover beer garden" facebook page, but it seems like things are pretty complicated now as far as live music (it was not loud, not late, and usually homegrown talent).I also heard that they have to limit the number of people allowed at one time until this gets resolved. what were your observations?

That's great! I'm really excited to hear about your wine and cheese place joining all the other new businesses that are coming to the Zoso building. I took a look at your AOL "The Start Up" postings http://smallbusiness.aol.com/startup/profile/wendy and found them really interesting because I have no idea what all needs to be considered when starting a new business. It sounds like being able to work at Cheesetique to learn the business was/is a great opportunity.
Hi Wendy!
I just read your info. Congratulations on taking a big step on fulfilling a dream. I also live in the vicinity and work for a locally owned specialty food distributor. When you start to think abt those kind of details, i would love to bring you information about our company.

Rosslyn is long overdue for such a gem! Not only is the coffee far superior to anything around that area, the staff is warm and welcoming, the pastries are worth every bite, and the interior is oh so cool- especially that beautiful San Marzocco lilac espresso machine. They take coffee seriously and know of what they speak.
