I tried the to go lunch special yesterday. Tonkatsu with rice, pickled cucumbers and onions. The pork cutlet had a very nice crunch, but the middle was a bit underdone for my taste. I know "pink" pork is moist but this was tough and chewy. The ssam sauce had a nice kick to it, but the huge pile of greasy large cut onions added nothing. The staff was very disorganized and unprofessional.

I must be missing something also. I've been to Rasika five times, and the only dish that "blew me away" was the palak chaat.

Unfortunately, I stopped by this weekend and the place was empty and the phone # disconnected. Too bad, it was on my "to do" list...

My 1 st post. I work for a DC law firm and was lucky enough to grow up/go to school/live in 3 great foodie cities- Memphis, New Orleans and NYC.
I am enjoying eating my way around DC, I'm particularly fond of spicy ethnic dishes. This website is wonderful.

Just wanted to update this post, Ray's City Vista location is alive and kicking. The decor is dark, sparse and menu is on poster board. However, the food I've had has beeen delicious- the infamous burgers and a good crunchy fried chicken breast sandwich. They also offer breakfast sandwiches- egg, cheese and chorizo and an avocado veggie version.
