Bartender, Server all levels


About the Job:

Candidates must be passionate for food and beverage, and have a desire to continuously learn about food ingredients, prep methods, execution, and service. Previous experience and basic food and beverage knowledge is preferred.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all drink recipes and the preparation and
    garnishment of all drinks.
  • Responsible for knowing the types, glasses, and brand names of the products we offer. Should have
    extensive knowledge of product to enhance the selection process.
  • Responsible for the handling of Company funds through cash transactions on the Computer System.
  • Fully understand how to operate the Point of Sale System (Positouch).
  • Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image for Mio Restaurant.
  • Maintain proper stock levels (including inventory control and ordering) of perishables and spirits according to projected business.
  • Inform the immediate supervisor of any product shortages.
  • Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so.
  • Handle the chemicals for the glass washing machine in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of your work station/bar.
  • Maintain proper and adequate setup of the bar on a daily basis. Keep bar completely stocked for next shift.
  • Must enjoy working in a high pace, high volume environment.
  • Maintain rapid, accurate customer service.
  • Provide a pleasant dining experience to all guests.
  • Replenish food and beverages as requested, frequently checking back with guests to inquire about satisfaction.
  • Possess complete knowledge of all food and beverage menus – including ingredients, preparation methods,
    and presentation
  • Recommend menus selections by listening to guests requests.
  • Build customer rapport by establishing relationships with regular customers.
  • Present the guests with their check promptly, thanking them and inviting them to return.
  • Work with chef's restaurant projects and priorities.
  • Must maintain a positive relationship with the service staff.
  • Follow worksheets and recipe guidelines.
  • Complete all side work duties according to the standard in the bar and restaurant.
  • Be receptive to feedback and coaching.
  • Other duties assigned including bar closing.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • One (1) year experience as a bartender in a fast paced environment.
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • College graduate preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of wines,liquors, cordials, and after dinner drinks preferred.
  • Able to lift fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must have a friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Excellent Guest service skills.
  • Organization skills.
  • Able to communicate sufficiently with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Must be able to handle a flexible schedule.
  • No felony convictions.
