Beware the Pumpkin Spice

Timely.  I have felt this week like every restaurant and coffee shop in town has "pumpkin [fill in the blank]" on the menu to be "seasonal."  Great pumpkin.  Baked pumpkin.  Carved pumpkin.  Pumpkin o' lantern. Pumpkin souflee. Stuffed pumpkin. Pumpkin soup. And, of course, the usually oversweetened pumpkin pie.  Is it fair to be sick of pumpkin in the first week since it seems to have gone live? Like everyone in the food biz got an email or something?
