  1. Thanks for the thoughtful response. It is for a dish I make usually around thanksgiving.

I hoped there was some market or purveyor who carried it. I used to be able to get it at wegmans but no longer.

Can always grow a small pot by then. Probably in a year or two it will become trendy and all the rage and be available all over. 😀

  2. Went there about a year ago and was very disappointed . Ordered a pizza with buffalo mozerella. I know that the cheese can be a bit watery. The pie came out with the cheese virtually sloshing around on top in water and turning the crust into a soggy mess. When we complained they tried to tell us that was how all those pies came out. I don't think so.. Have not been back.

  3. We were also there on Monday evening, both to seek relief from rush hour traffic and to celebrate Gubeen's most recent career move.  The front room was doing a reasonable trade, but we enjoyed the quiet of having a rather empty back "wine" dining room to ourselves for a while.  Monday isn't theoretically ideal for either seafood or for your favorite spots being open for dinner, but BlackSalt didn't disappoint.  Excellent oysters Rockefeller, beautifully crisped skin on the red snapper / buckwheat ramen on the daily specials list.

But just as memorably, really, really good service.  Comfortable, unforced, unintrusive yet ever-present.  I didn't count how many times the shell plate for her moules was changed...it would simply be replaced every time it started to look two-thirds full.  I personally hadn't been in years, partly from a long period of not venturing into DC enough, but this is going back onto my radar.

Wish I could agree. Have been there several times. Latest meal included entree that was raw, another main course lacking in flavor. Indifferent staff and stale bread. Really felt taken advantage of. No excuse at these prices.

  4. Extremely happy with bosch but unfortunately the first one only lasted about 6years. Still bought another one because it cleans well and is so quiet you dont know it is running. Use the finish powerballs. Much better than powder be because you cant over fill and end up clogging the machine over time. I think that is what caused the premature failure of the first bosch

  5. Looking around more, I think it's covered generally under Baltimore and Annapolis -- found recommendations for a couple places (Bartlett Pear Inn in EastonBistro Poplar in Cambridge), though not centralized. But that helps a lot.

In Cambridge, Bistro Poplar. Several visits though none in last year. Both visits were excellent. Well prepared , good service. Not cheap but i would consider excellent.

  6. Tried it yesterday for lunch. Was rather disappointed . Toro on blackboard but were out. Cant figure out the 4 piece Rolls.. Cant eat in one bite and so much of he fish was sticking out of top that two bites required turning it int half mixed sashimi and the remaining bite a maki. I dont get it. Flavors were bland. Went to sushi ko today. Was more expensive but night and day better in presentation and flavor.
