  1. So I guess no Jaleo, no Teaism, no Mesa Grill, no Charlie Palmers for you.

Maybe I'll just cut out the more commercial-everyman restaurants...

I love Chef Brian at Charlie Palmer's...Teaism is my fav Dupont hangout.

I am a little over the tapas trend although Oyamel's desserts always get to me and after working in the Food Network Kitchen and with Senor Flay on the set - Mesa Grill is most definitely out.

  2. Le Cordon Bleu graduate with over 5 years of BOH & FOH experience looking for a new full time job ASAP.

    This job must not entail:

    * working 13-15 hours a night/5-6 nights a week

    * doing a ton of paperwork daily

    * becoming monotonous within the first month

I need a fun, lively atmosphere with a great staff and a super cool management team where I can exercise my chops in either the front or back of the house.

I have an imtermediately extensive wine background as well - I am attempting the SWE Certified Wine Specialist and WSET Advanced Certificate concurrently.

I am a people person with a creative, ingenious mind who likes a challenge.

If you think you can help me, I can send my resume to you ASAP...or email me @

    Thanks

  3. Here's a list of my "UNFORGETTABLE" meals since I moved to the area last Memorial Day:

Legal Seafoods Crystal City: plastic rubberband on the top of my chowder

Il Raddichio Arlington: spider on my lettuce - still alive mind you !!

Macaroni Grill Ballston: "black& blue" chicken - seems to be a trend here....

Clyde's Georgetown: plastic bread bag tie in burger

I am giving up on chain restaurants big and small - if they have more than one location, they're on the DO NOT EAT THERE list...

  4. I heard on the radio this morning that the Clarendon store will reopen this weekend and it will donate 5% of its proceeds during the weekend to Katrina relief.

They reopened with a bang and a lot of familiar faces on Friday - Josh was there greeting and selling like he loves to do.

Plz tell everyone to stop on by - just remember that there is no wine bar anymore.
