  1. Lonzo Ball, I fear, is somewhat overrated, has too much baggage, and might be a disappointment in the NBA. Look at his stat line this year: 14.6 points, 6 rebounds, 7.6 assists. That's very impressive, especially for a freshman, and especially in the assists category. However, his shooting technique is extremely flawed, and he's not mature enough to tell his father to back off. Yes, he can shoot an open 3, but his free-throw percentage this year is 67.3% - think about that for a moment. He's big and quick, he can jump, and he can pass very well, but he is a big risk - my dark side hopes the Lakers pass on him at #2, just to irk his father. I believe Lonzo Ball will be a good NBA player, but I'm not convinced he'll be the superstar his father claims he already is. 2. "At Mas', Jonathan Gold Finds Hearty, Spicy Food Just Like Your Chinese Islamic Mother Used To Make" by Jonathan Gold on latimes.com --- For our Washington, DC contingent: It's coincidental that Jonathan Gold chose to review Mas' this week, because I was just moments away from reporting on a Halal Chinese restaurant on our side of the country: Kabab King, which is on Columbia Pike in Falls Church, directly across the highway from Meaza. Kabab King also serves what they call "Desi Chinese," Desi being an Indian term that means something close to "From Us." I walked into Kabab King, and it seems more Eastern Indian than Chinese, but more than anything else, it seems to be Bangladeshi (don't forget, Bangladesh used to be "East Pakistan" until 1971, when it became an independent nation). They have a lunch buffet, and I'm not going to necessarily recommend the restaurant from what I saw, but it does exist.
  3. Any recommendations for, specifically, Anaheim? I'm going to be there for a week in mid-August, and I will NOT have car. Short of the few places in and around the Marriott / Hilton / Convention Center complex, and the stuff at Downtown Disney, is there anything edible in that area?
