So did I, but still... Congratulations to Mr. Ruta and Ms. Amernick! However, for for purely selfish reasons I'm really disappointed- Now I won't be able to walk (as easily) to the Cafe.i knew it was too good to last -
El Pollo Sabroso is on Mt. Pleasant Street at Kenyon. It was the first restaurant I visited after moving to Mt. Pleasant, and I keep returning both for sentimental reasons and the green sauce that they serve with their good (but not great) Peruvian/Salvadoran roast chicken.I like the term cheap-and-cheerful.Where are:
El Pollo Sabroso
Pepito's Tacos
Tacos Pepitos Bakery II is on Columbia Rd. in A-M across from the Safeway. My friends call it Pepito's Tacos due to a a relatively absurd conversation that began with a fantastically obscure Simpsons reference. I like the roast pork or lengua tacos the best. I occasionally get over to Taqueria Distrito Federal as well, which has been discussed before.

I suppose this is a good thread to really get started here...
My rotation is relatively limited and includes many cheap-and-cheerful options due to my post graduate school employment at a think tank, but I try to get out. In alphabetical order:
2 Amys
Amsterdam Falafel
BdC
Birreria Paradiso
El Pollo Sabroso
Naan and Beyond
Palena Cafe
Pepito's Tacos
Vace

Despite being new here, I still cannot help but ask myself whether Mr. Hagedorn understands just how petty and unprofessional such a post makes him appear.

Is anyone besides me noticing "changes" in the bread at restaurants who are sourcing from Breadline?
Hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings?

Between Santa Ynez and SLO is one of the kitchiest destinations in America, The Madonna Inn, where every room is decorated in a different theme or historical period--including paleolithic cave.
The mens' room in the lobby is also nothing to shake a stick at.

OK other than the wrong city in the wrong country you are right it is a wonderful beer. It is from the city of Budweis in the Bohemia region of the Czeh Republic.
Budweiser/Budvar is sold as Czechvar in the U.S. for copyright reasons. IMHO it's not really that special, but I'm not the biggest lager fan.
