Stone "Ruination" Imperial IPA.
100+ IBUs, but not crazily unbalanced, at least to my taste. Perhaps the ruination lies in the $17 a sixer retail. Oof.

It's a little obnoxious. What percentage of their customer base is families? We'd rather take our kids to restaurants where they are welcome, not tolerated.
A very significant percentage. Why? Because they've always been very, very, very accommodating to children and to parents who want to eat well accompanied by their children. Probably more so, I would venture, than any other DC restaurant of even vaguely comparable quality. But don't let their unimpeachable past track record stop you from completely writing them off based on an unsourced report by a no-name blogger about what they may or may not be planning to do in the future.

The basic Weber three-burner model will do anything you ask of it. It's now designated the Spirit E310 and can be had for less than $400 online.

First they came for the Anonymous Dickweeds, and I did not speak out.
Mainly because they were thorough enough to gag me before taking me away.

Anyone caught this effort?
Somewhat hypnotic even for a hater. I shudder to think what it'll do for Dan. (Is there a "raging chubby" smiley?)

My grapes are bigger than yours.

How's this for etiquette? Our 2-year-old is an uncanny mimic and, as a result, we try hard to model politeness when the family eats together at home. This has some unexpected side effects when eating out, though. A few days ago, the two of us stopped at a local diner for lunch:
Waitress: "Would either of you gentlemen like more juice?"
Toddler: "No thanks, honey."
Dad and Waitress: "!!!???"
Waitress: "Well, you're pretty smooth for a little guy."
Dad: "He gets it from me."
Waitress: "Clearly not."
Toddler: "I cool dude! That's right!"
We definitely got an extra scoop of icecream with our dessert.

Have had good recent luck with:
Cigale (Barossa)
Longwood (McLaren Vale)
Tim Adams (Clare Valley)
If you want to nuke the site from orbit, try Tait Ballbuster. It would make Rocks cut out his tongue.

Some absolutely toecurling 22-year-old rye Parrott hooked me up with the other night. 137 proof. Bam!

“Food is the next frontier in terms of the precious raising of children,” said Pilar Guzmán, the editor in chief of Cookie, the high-end parenting magazine.“It’s a badge of urban sophisticate honor to have your kid be an adventurous eater.”
Oh fuck off.

But is the salt and pepper bullfrog locally sourced?

Hey, I never even saw this thread.
The Mrs. and I decided to detox and refit in January, too. We're eating lean protein and rabbit food, mostly, and have gone strictly teetotal for the duration.
So far, the dieting hasn't really bothered me, but I don't much like the bugs crawling around under my skin.
PS: Dare I ask wtf is going on in the forum section associated with this particular topic?

Genetically-engineered hollow celery sticks can now be used "to flavor Bloody Marys through sipping or hold a hidden cream cheese or peanut butter surprise", allowing enterprising restaurateurs to add "an element of surprise and novelty (that) makes eating and drinking even more festive."

Surely it's muhdawg, no?

There is also a button on the bottom left of the main page that says Delete Cookies. It's available in the same place regardless of what computer or navigator you use.
Such admirable consistency! Er, except for me it's on the right.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I think it's a lousy idea and every bit as pointless a gimmick as -- oh, I don't know -- say assigning absolute point scores to wine and claiming that's any useful indication of the relative quality of a 92-point Aussie Shiraz versus a 91-point Sancerre. Hey, it's just another way of sorting out a crowded field.
Seriously, what's wrong with simply telling people that 2Amys is a very good Italian place and Thai Square is a very good Thai place? Why does anyone have to sit around a conference table pounding Diet Coke and fretting over whether it is the pizza or the pad phrik that most closely approaches the Platonic ideal?

Thanks for these recommendations. I'll be heading to Boston's western 'burbs (Natick, Framingham, and the Newtons) and need to have suggestions for two dinners so I won't end up at the Natick Legal Seafood (won't have time to get into Boston proper). In addition to Le Soir & Sichuan Gourmet, I have these – please help me fine tune:
Lumière, West Newton
Blue Ginger, Wellesley
Sorry, I missed this. If the trip hasn't already taken place, you might also consider Oga's in Natick, off Route 9 just past Natick Mall. Among Boston's best sushi places.
Lumiere is very good, by most reports. Blue Ginger can be good, but is noticeably on cruise control and is almost impossible to get in to on any kind of shortish notice.
PS: The Figs in Wellesley has closed and is to be replaced with another tony, Italian, Michael Schlow venture called Alta Strada.

Not a half-bad bourbon article either, considering Don wouldn't touch the stuff six months ago .
Link it or die!

Does the decision cover barter? If not, they should simply insist that the millions of French folk who visit the Netherlands each year solely to buy cannabis each bring a good bottle of wine along to swap for some Kali Mist.
