  1. Out on Dorsey road by arundel mills mall is a thai place called little spice. I find that the appetizer section is the best option and order a few between the lady and I. With our favorites being the eggplant salad which is thin slices of eggplant tempura over a lower level spiced larb gai. Also the tiger sweep is good and you can order sticky rice and ask for a plate of lettuce to up your experience. I've found the entrees lacking but had a solid drunken noodles for lunch once. The desserts are pretty delicious but my favorite has to be the taro pearls in warm coconut milk.

  2. At 8407 Kitchen Bar we use carnaroli to make risotto( served with ramps and parm right now) and I have the guys rinse it well before we make it because I don't like how it turns out otherwise. Then we sauté onions and a bay leaf add in rice to lightly toast and have hot water ready to add in 2 stages. We boil it pretty hard to crack the grains to release inner starch. Stirring all the while and adding water as needed. When it's still al dente it's poured onto a sheet tray and "cut" with a wooden spoon to help it cool faster. Order comes in butter shallots and garlic hit the pan then the rice a quick stir then water ramps and parm, reduce till tight butter more cheese and a fresh handful of ramps salt to taste and plate. Not saying that's the only way to do it, just our way.

  3. I live right off Main Street. The wings at Main Street sports tavern are always properly fried. They're not gourmet by any means but better then any other place that murders them. The other week they had chicken 65 at curry leaf buffet, little nuggets of highly marinated chicken fried crisp with fried curry leaves as well. Fantastic. And also the doughnuts and mini burgers at little tavern at corner of route 1 and Main Street are silly good, the blueberry cake is the only good cake style donut I've ever had

  4. Had dinner here with my fiancé for second time tonight. Very old school. I thought the room was a little too bright but we were by far the youngest couple there. We shared the Romano bruschetta to start and got it the last time too, I love how the bread is toasted and warm and the topping is cold, it consisted of tomato and celery peeled and diced. The tomato mix was freaking awesome, what a fantastic little simple bite. They also have now twice served me my favorite salad( not a composed one) of green and red leaf with a red wine garlic olive oil and parm dressing. It's what I looked forward to as I was ordering my entree, which was the rollata Della nonna. Enough has been said of that dish everywhere so I'll just say it lives up to the hype, lady got the chicken ravioli with a tomato Gorgonzola and fontina cream. That pasta may have been better then mine. A half carafe of red and a split tiramisu( which might just be the best one I've ever had) set us back 65 bucks with tip. What a awesome place.

  5. One of the things I miss the most about not working in dc anymore..... Meatball marinara from a.litteris. I get a 6 inch soft white and grab a cold cut outta the fridge on my way out( I love it when the Italian cold cut has a chance for all the Italian dressing to soak into the bread).

  6. I've found myself shunning all my other Beltsville/Laurel favorites lately and heading straight in for another bowl of delicious noodles that I can hear being beaten to a pulp in the kitchen right after I order.

Would you mind telling me your laurel and beltsville favorites? This place sounds awesome and I've never heard of it, makes me wonder what else I'm missing.

  7. This is my Sunday spot. The buffet on weekends is outstanding, it's 2 dollars more then during the week. But that nets you 3 dessert choices and different breads. I personally think the Haleem is my favorite but can see how it might get boring if that's all I ate. The chicken tikka masala is not murdered and dry like most places and they have tons of vegetarian choices, for 12.95 a person it can't be beat.

  8. I'm looking at the Chinese menu now, and hit the "Google translate" button, so now I can see the menu options. I'm just going to print this out next time and take it with me.

That part at the bottom about translating the menu online and taking it with you is genius. That could work in so many situations. It's funny how we never think of the most obvious things.

  9. Ha! What an amazing day! I came in at prime cost finally after relentlessly redoing everything, and it's an honor to be at the top of the silver spring list. Some downsides to today are I lost my caterpillar hat at home and I drank way too much espresso, but all in all fantastic day! I'll be drinking at Main Street sports grill tonight, Don that's Oliver's to you. Thanks y'all!!

  10. I came here for dinner last year, I don't remember most of the dishes but one that I've kept talking about is the smoked fried chicken. Cold smoke buttermilk brined the floured and deep fried. This dish was creaking awesome, the potato salad reminded me of something giant makes but I didn't care. You gotta make your potato salad with still warm potatoes and serve it not from the fridge. Anyway, chicken was two thighs, they were boneless but still juicy. Close to my favorite fried chicken ever

  11. I was in books a million in arundel mills a few weeks back and said wtf is this crap the second I saw the the frozen yogurt topping bar. Seriously there were gummy candies m&m reces pieces, cups, toffee, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, Oreo pieces, marshmallows, sugary cereals. And also there were three gallon pump containers with Godiva caramel chocolate and some other shit. It was ridiculous.
