It's another Wild Grape whoop-de-doo Saturday at Rick's in Alexandria. Come by and taste a few more wines and see why Rich (my biz partner) has been dubbed the "Tornado."
And just maybe a beer afterwards?

FWIW, I prefer the dry-aged from Wegmans to the dry-aged from Whole Foods.

Had dinner last night with one of our visiting farm owners at the kitchen table at 2941. The four of us had brought eight or nine wines (allowed in private rooms in VA), and Chef Krinn tasted each one before sending out a dish against it. It was a brilliant meal in a setting that perfectly balances the voyeuristic and practical.

That's 3-6, baby! (Unless it's changed in the last month or so).

They have an on and off-premise license, so that wasn't the issue. VA laws are screwy though; it might've had to do with not selling enough food (funny, since wine shops in NY aren't allowed to sell food!)

They've had some minor license issues (nothing like serving a minor or anything) and should be open again very soon (I think sometime next week).

You'll need a pillow, too.
Seriously, if you can't predict every line in this flick after about five minutes, then you're not trying hard enough.
And the cut we saw was two-and-a-half hours long. Now I hear there's a shorter cut flying around, but that was far longer than too damn long.

I've never had a reservation before 9:30. Does that count?

Tomorrow night, I'm pouring at a wine tasting event in Alexandria. It benefits the Foundation Fighting Blindness, so it's being billed as, you guessed it, a "Blind Tasting." Har.

Would love to grab a drink afterward if people are out that late.
Edit: Oh, and hi y'all!
On a whim, what are you up to?
