Lori Gardner
I've been blogging about (mostly) DC area restaurants since August. I invite you to add my blog to your blog feed list. Lori Gardner
A couple of recent posts that I invite you to check out. My interview with Top Judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons is here: http://beenthereeate...d-gail-simmons/ If you are heading to NYC, here are two fine options for Italian food- Rosemary's in the West Village and Rubirosa in Nolita. Rubirosa has seriously good pizza! http://beenthereeate...s-and-rubirosa/
Lori Gardner
Recent dining in DC outings have included two restaurants that share a similar down-home vibe along with great food. No ifs, ands, or butts...Izakaya Seki knocks me off my feet: http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2012/11/izakaya-seki/ and Seriously good Vegetarian at Thai Xing: http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2012/11/thai-x-ing/
Lori Gardner
My newest review is titled "Suna...not later" about the intriguing new Suna on Capitol Hill. I've included a quote from a conversation on this board, since it gave another perspective on the one dish that I didn't really like. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2012/12/suna/
Lori Gardner
Sharing a couple of my latest reviews which includes: Equinox (it actually appears from the website that Executive Chef Karen Nicolas is now gone. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2012/12/equinox/ and Ink in Los Angeles http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/01/ink/
DonRocks
Sharing a couple of my latest reviews which includes: Equinox (it actually appears from the website that Executive Chef Karen Nicolas is now gone. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2012/12/equinox/ and Ink in Los Angeles http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/01/ink/ Thank you, Lori! Please keep posting - I love reading your reviews. I'm a fan of Tom, but your pictures alone show that Equinox - at least on that night - easily deserves more than 1.5 stars. [bloggers, in general, please post up to twice a month about your work! Lori has been doing this for awhile now, and it keeps reminding me to read her fine blog.]
Lori Gardner
My latest post is about the new Range in Mazza Gallery. If you are familiar with my blog, it won't surprise you that I like it. But Chef Voltaggio isn't the only thing Range has going for it. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/02/range/

Lori Gardner
Some new posts on Been There, Eaten That Last month's dining adventures included Alinea- the best meal of my life. I share my experience here: http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/06/alinea/ Also, I am guessing there aren't too many kosher participants on this site, but here's a kosher spot in Philly that merits a visit: http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/05/citron-and-rose/ and finally, my most recent post is about Daikaya in DC. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/06/daikaya/
Lori Gardner
As evidenced by the long list of restaurant openings on this board, it's hard to keep up. My most recent blog posts focus on the 14th Street additions of Le Diplomate, Ghibellina, and Etto. Le Diplomate http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/06/le-diplomate/ Ghibellina and Etto http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/06/four-new-dc-hot-spots/ plus...a welcome renovation to Persimmon in Bethesda. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/06/persimmon/ Thanks for reading! Lori Gardner
It's been a busy summer. Thought I would share some of my recent posts: My first post about Masala Art was three years ago and focused on some very incompetent service. On a recent visit, I was better able to focus on the food: http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/09/masala-art-2/ I also made a return visit to Trummer's on Main, where despite some literal bumps in the road we enjoyed some very good dishes: http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/08/trummers-on-main-2/ I loved the robust flavors of the food at 14 Global in Bethany Beach. I'm hearing great things from some readers who made visits after reading my review: http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/08/14-global/ I also wrote about restaurants in Atlanta and New York which can be found on my blog under reviews by locale, around the US.
Lori Gardner
Two new restaurants...two new posts. (and the key word here seems to be TWO). I made two visits to Doi Moi within a few days of each other, and had two sightings of Supreme Court Justices. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/11/doi-moi/ I fell hard for Rose's Luxury, and am anxious for a second visit. http://beenthereeatenthat.net/2013/11/roses-luxury/
DonRocks
Lori's review of 8407 Kitchen Bar. Yes, she gives us a shout-out here, but Lori has been a treasured member of this community for a long time now, and I like her reviews very much - there's a certain "coming of age" quality to them that I find genuine and real. Lori Gardner
thanks, Don for your kind words and your support, which I value. but I'm pushing 60. How old to I have to be before I'm "of age?"
Lori Gardner
On August 1 Been There, Eaten That turned four years old. I still feel like the little engine that could, but I appreciate all the support from Don and the members here. Please give me a follow at beenthereeatenthat.net and @foodobsessed6 on Twitter. Thanks!
DonRocks
Lori, a suggestion: I was reading through your Maketto post, and it would have been nice to compare the price of your steamed buns against the ones I got the othe night at Yona. Nothing more than that. Cheers, Don
Lori Gardner
Lori, a suggestion: I was reading through your Maketto post, and it would have been nice to compare the price of your steamed buns against the ones I got the othe night at Yona. Nothing more than that. Cheers, Don I actually wrote the Maketto post before dining at Yona. I'll be working on that post next. I didn't pay that much attention to the prices between the two- both restaurants seemed reasonable- particularly given the quality of the food. DonRocks
I wanted to give Lori's blog another shout-out because I think it's underrated. Other folks should feel free to do the same about their favorite food blogs in this town, about which I'm largely ignorant, and would prefer not to be. Lori Gardner
Thanks Don! Since I'm here, I'll share my most recent post about Clarity in Vienna. Chef Jonathan Krinn is doing some great things there- and at a reasonable price!
