Utqiaġvik (UUT kee AH vik) is the northernmost city in Alaska, and 1,300 miles south of the North Pole. The locals took a referendum on changing the name back from Barrow in 2016, because they were sick of feeling colonized.

Being 320-miles north of the Arctic Circle, it sees the midnight sun from the middle of May until the end of July.
