Looking For A Specific Recipe From A 1990s Bon Appetit Issue

Hi! I am needing to know the month and year that my Hubby was featured in a back issue of Bon Appetit for his recipe. He can't remember the year or for that matter even the month.  It amazes me how hard to find this is. I would like to purchase the issue from Bon appetite for Christmas for him, So I am pleading with anyone who perhaps kept back issues of BA mag.

Here is what I know:

The title of the dish is "phyllo wrapped chicken with southwest pesto and garlic sauce"

The years it may have been issued in Bon Appetit could be between 1990-1997.

My Hubby name is Kenneth Kindel and at the time he worked at the Blue Window Bistro in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

And yes----I tired Bon App website and epicurious. I did find the recipe posted on other sites that people copied it from Bon App and they give credit to Bon App for the recipe.

I Goggled the recipe and the earliest dated reference I found was January 27, 1996. I would go to a library and work back from that date.

Would this have been in the RSVP section of the magazine?  I can look tomorrow through my back issues.

@pat I believe so! he said that There were customers that requested Bon App to post the recipe, isn't that what the RSVP is? And thank you sooo soo soo much you don't know how much it would mean to me!

@hammerhead- I would try that but unfortunately I live in a smaller town and they said they do not carry back issues that far.

Ah, yes. I found out (the hard way) that the RSVP recipes are NOT available online--see my request for a Lobster Risotto recipe somewhere around here.  If you PM squidsdc, and ask nicely, her husband may be of some help.  If you can find the correct date, then a search for a hard copy might actually result in one.

So someone I messaged on ebay that was selling a LOT of 90's issues of BON APP. And asked politely if he would search through his and he responded!! the first that did...he said its in the Dec 95 issue. If anyone can confirm this before I purchase I would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks for all the help. @barbara...Thank you for the info if this doesn't pan out I will PM him indeed!

It is indeed in the December 1995 issue, on page 24.  I'm glad you've been able to track down a copy.
