Following the suggestion/direction of our forum host on my last visit I ordered the turkey sandwich. It was a huge disappointment. The turkey was watery and tasteless. It only had chunks of dark meat. It made the bread watery too. I ended up taking out the meat and eating a $7 lettuce sandwich. Needless to say I was quite unhappy.
Try the tuna.

Two questions:
1. Anybody know what Rocks was drinking this morning when he started this thread?
2. Anybody willing to admitt they have eaten there? I had a roomate who used to drive 30 mintues into the burbs to eat here and loved it. Sigh.

When Rocks finally started sharing his steak Thursday night he said it was cooked in pork. After one bite, we all agreed. The steak tasted like it had been seared in bacon. Later in the evening we asked Chef Power and he told us that there was no pork fat used just grapeseed oil. Please explain this 'pork flavored' steak for me.
No I did not forget. They are the opiate of the masses and I refused to have my revolutionary spirit crushed by any of those shelled mud-sucking sea animals.
PS - For those who may not know already, I abhor shellfish. They make me gag. I'm sure that Chef Tom's are great, but the fact remains for me that they are still shellfish.
Sorry, I forgot how I have benefited for the small flaw in your character

Perhaps I'll join you - I could use a glass or two of wine. Scott leaves tomorrow on a 3-day business trip and I will have the kids all to myself.
Ohhhhh, I may just join you too, if I get all my work done today. If it's just the three of us though, we should make you come north a little.

I highly recommend the hillvalley method for enjoying a cone on free cone day: Find a good friend,
Stand in line and chat,
Finally get into the store and get your cone,
Go back to the end of the line,
Enjoy cone while standing line for next cone.
Repeat as necessary

We went with friends... the weather was gorgeous, our seats okay (way out by the left field foul pole, but they cost us nothing, so no complaints), taking the metro was no problem at all, the game decent (both teams had fielding problems), and the food...
I'll vouch for the cotton candy, although they only had pink, no blue or purple. Light, fluffy, enough sugar to get you through all nine innings. The popcorn isn't half bad either, as long as you avoid the butter.
Anybody know what the rules for tailgating are? I bet we could put together one hell of a spread, if we can get a couple of spots in the lots of course.

My first time at Alberto's was my last meal of 2004 and I fell in love. Considering we are in DC, this is what pizza should be. Crust isn't too thick, cheese is stringy, if you close your eyes you can almost imagine you are in NY (almost).
The only caveat is that it does not reheat well the next day. Before the fire I liked to grab a slice on Sundays, walk over to the Market and watch people buy healthy food while I endulge in grease and carbs.

Joe, you forgot to mention the scallops. I had the entree version and am still dreaming of them. Soft, buttery, melt in your mouth with lentils to add a bit of texture. Mmmmmmmm
Combined with the steak it makes an excellent surf and turf

If you have low expectations on the fruit and veggie front for the next 6-8 weeks you will not be disappointed.
Stick to your dairy, meat and carbs with a few greens thrown in and you can't go wrong.
I picked up some mozzarella at Dupont last week that was divine.
