  1. Tried the Del Ray Dreamery yesterday and really loved the special which was "Dusty's Almond Toffee). Homemade toffee at that. The custard is wonderful.

Also, picked up Banana Peanut Butter frozen yogurt for our dogs. The loved it.

Can't say enough about the Wisconsin style frozen custard. Living in Del Ray, the Dreamery is alittle too close for my waistline. I was happy to find this place because I haven't had custard this good since I was a kid, there was a store front in Rehoboth that my family always went too, and I didn;t realize how much I missed frozen custard till I walked into the Dreamery.

  2. I will always weigh in with Bistro Francais. One of DC's true classics, I find myself there more often than my wife would like I'm sure. The tartare is great and is what I gravitate towards on the menu. I always seem to have a great time there no matrter what, usually with friends from work and other restaurants, it is still the preeminent after hours spot for me. All this and tablecloths too....

  3. It's getting worse.

This may require more draconian measures.

The image of a sweaty and shaking Don ripping at his hair as he assails the spaces, yes the spaces, on posts that continue to haunt him leads me to believe that the high school stand by of Vicks 44D and National Bohemian may be his last hope to stem the tide of Rockwellian agoraphobia.

  4. Plenty of asparagus and strawberries floating around Eastern Market, not sure how local they are...otherwise nothing has really taken off yet.

Can't be local, Steve Turnage in Rappahannock, VA usually has the first local asparagus and strawberries, at least in terms of what I buy for the restaurant. Most everything out there probably has a product of Mexico sticker that has fallen by the wayside.
