William Lessne and Jonathan Leung, DDS, North Arlington

Recommended Posts

I've been seeing William Lessne, DDS, (pronounced LESS-nee) for many years now, and I can confidently recommend him for regular care.

A Wednesday cleaning this week reminded me of Dr. Lessne's outstanding hygienist, Irina Goykhberg, who invariably gets assigned to me (and, since I'm a problem-free patient, I spend about 80% of my appointment time with her). She's a perfect combination of friendly, discrete, quiet, efficient, observant, and non-judgmental. After the cleaning (and x-rays, if needed), Dr. Lessne will step in and look things over, thoroughly explaining any potential problems, and often recommending taking a "wait and see" strategy.

LOTS of people, including senior citizens, haven't seen a dentist in ten years. Enter my mom: I took her to see Dr. Lessne earlier this year - she went, reluctantly, but she left saying "what a nice man Dr. Lessne is" because he explained everything to her (and me) in easy-to-understand detail. He also had the wisdom (no pun intended) to refer her to a specialist for this particular procedure, which took the risk down from 'slim' to 'about zero.' I was very impresed with the extra time this practice took with my mom, and I'm thankful to them for having made her experience a positive one.

Dr. Lessne loves getting all the latest restaurant news, and he, Irina, and I were all chatting about Barcelona after my appointment - that's the kind of people they are. They don't dawdle, but they don't rush you out, either.

Here's their website.

Seconded. I've been going there for years, most of which I've lived out of town (I started going before I left Arlington for Fairfax 6! years ago), but I still trundle in during non-rush hours to see them. Most of my appointments are with Dr. Lessne's partner, Dr. Leung, but, at this point, I think I've been seen by every person in the office. They (including the receptionists and billing folks) are all very nice and welcoming and willing to take the time to make sure you're taken care of. An excellent practice all around.

Dr. Lessnee (who I saw for my cleaning a couple of weeks ago) is quite a film buff, as it turns out. He has recommended several older classics to me that I'd overlooked - right now I'm thinking of "Fail Sale," "Paths of Glory" and "Touch of Evil," all of which I'm really glad I watched.
