I'm having difficulty location a bottle of this for reasons of cocktail. Any suggestions? Ideally in PG or Montgomery county MD, but I work in Ballston if you think one of the VA ABC stores would carry it. Worst case, point me to a DC liquor store. TIA!

Tried Amor y Amargo last night (Friday). Yes, it's very small, and I'm glad I was there early when it wasn't crowded. It's a narrow space with only about 6, 7? (not sure exactly how many) seats at the bar plus standing room. I got there soon after it opened at 5pm, and I thought I was too early, but by 5:20pm, the bar seats were all taken and a couple of people were standing. I enjoyed the Diamonds and Guns (going by the menu online: Atsby Armadillo Cake vermouth, chartreuse, genever, white rum, celery bitters). Boozy but balanced so you weren't overwhelmed. Based on the menu, the cocktails seem to be pretty strong in alcohol so I only had one cocktail (pacing myself because I was going to Booker and Dax and Pouring Ribbons next

Earlier this year, my friends Ryan Irvine and Stephanie Jansky launched Full Measure Bitters, a Cleveland-based purveyor of small-batch cocktail bitters (and Ohio's first legal bitters company!). They recently finished production on Batch 4 and have had great local success. They just started selling their product on Amazon and I couldn't be happier for them. Until they get approved for Prime, they're offering free shipping to anywhere in the Continental US. It makes for an excellent Old Fashioned; the recipe is on the label.

It wouldn't be a Cole née Schenone big fat Italian gorge fest without an injection of Fernet Branca afterwards, 'specially 'round the holidays. It seems to be prohibited or otherwise unavailable for sale in VA, whereas you can't walk into a state liquor store where I grew up (outside Philly) without tripping over the stuff. Anyone know if it's available anywhere near the district?
