Here is a link to Fritz Hahn's recent piece on Happy Hours. "For Days You Skipped Lunch". The resturants and bars mentioned are linked, which is kinda nice.

I knew it was only a matter of time after I voted for Todd that I would start receiving spam from DCStyle. I guess that's what the "This is Spam" button is for.
I got that too! Damn.

Has anyone ever had a burger from a gym before?
No, but I had a really good blueberry smoothie from there a few months ago.

It is really great that Laura chose not only a woman, but a naturalized citizen as top toque.
And a 42 year old. No age discrimination.

Unbelievable that Whole Foods will package some of mealiest, white-hued watermelon into a quart container and try to charge you $7. It's peak production season and this region produces.
Are you joking? It makes me want to steal from the vitamin aisle.

SoHo is the closest place to my office so I eat there all too often. They do make a decent red beans and rice though, so I'm chowing down on that along with a soggy eggroll.
SoHo, the buffet chain with the red and black sign? It's a big deal to admit that! Kudos.

The good news is that Kliman could always just chime in himself...

"In September, Don Rockwell, at that time eGullet’s moderator for the D.C. and DelMarVa forum, wrote a sneak preview of the hotly anticipated CityZen. Rockwell mentioned, offhandedly, that he was a “cheap fuck” for not valet-parking his car."

I WANT to like Breadline as much as everyone else seems to like Breadline...I usually find praise on this site to be spot-on.
But my $7 BLT on wheat was BURNED, soggy with mayo, haphazardly slapped together, and not worth my time or my money!
How was it burned? You mean the bacon? The bread isn't usually toasted is it? I thought it was a pretty outstanding sandwich when I had it. To make a sandwich too much better at home wouldn't cost that much less...and you'd still have to buy the whole loaf of bread.

Sour Cream & Onion Pringles (1/3 Menos de Grasa que los Pringles Regulares) and Black Cherry Powerade Option from Rite Aid. Something is terribly wrong. I'm melting.

CrescentFresh said:For tapas? Jaleo. Hands down. Don't waste your time elsewhere. There are many restaurants that serve "small plates" as they say these days, but tapas is Spanish and for the best tapas in DC you go to Jaleo.
Tapas are also very good at Taberna del Alabardero. I was there a few nights ago again. The tapas still stand strong, although they aren't much better than Jaleo's and cost slightly more per plate (unless you get there for half price tapas between 3 and 5 p.m. weekdays, I think). The wine by the glass and the sangria were outstanding values (and not many over $10 a glass).
-
I don't recommend it. I found the food to be sloppy and overpriced. And the sangria (a signature drink) to be unlawful-- made with the worst wine and served from a pre-made vat that wasn't chilled enough. I think I went there to watch telvision, to be honest.

Can have a Lycee floating in my cocktail the way they have at Cityzen?

He's getting ready to eat a slice of pizza. Duh.
I'm very suspicious of possessed looking bears. Like that Children's Hospital, molesting bear logo and that Corduroy from the children's story. Can't trust bears.

And near Firefly, Vidalia has a great chese program too (Is it exactly the same as Bis or...?)

I propose you call it "Star 69" since according to his CV he was an adult film star in his pervious life.
Plus, he likes phones.

Put a splash of Lemoncello in there...
Why Fancy Pants?
It must be garnished with Pop Rocks.

I still really like Cafe Atlantico's. It's always the same.

I've been to this at least one Tuesday of my life. It's a nice surprise if you can get there without sweating too much.

What's your beef with their beef?
My one experience there was terrible. Even the ceasar salad sucked. And not that this has anything to do with food, but the AC was broken and we were still encouraged by management to dine in. It was a big mistake- the bartender a was big fat grump because it was so damn hot. My view is tainted, but generally speaking, the place lacks any soul whatsoever.
