Tres Leches

I am hosting a party at home at the end of June and it would make many people, particularly my husband, very happy to offer tres leches as dessert, or one of the dessert options. Which bakeries, restaurants, or caterers around the area offer the best version? thanks!!

Hi Cmmp - where are you looking and how far are you willing to travel?

There's a little bakery on Lee Hwy near Dominion Hills of Arlington that might make tres leches. I actually Shoppers' version, iirc correctly, but this is at the Falls Church/Seven Corners location.

La Mexicana Bakery down RT1 in Alexandria makes a really good one.

Thanks! FYI - I'm in Alexandria and, while NOVA and DC are easiest, I am willing to travel a bit. Looks like, in the short term, we'll be trying xdcx's suggestion of La Mexicana Bakery 1st. Dominion Hills sounds like it is next. thanks!!

You might also check Los Tios. We had tres leches on Sunday it it was pretty tasty.

The best tres leches in the area will be the one you make yourself. If you aren't committed to buying one, it's a pretty easy cake to make at home.

I normally do all my own baking, but we're have an event for 70, mostly catered, and I know there will be many things on my mind on the run-up to the party, hence the purchase.
