Recommended Posts

Don and all, just a quick note to let you know that Olio2go is now open in Merrifield. We're happy to share olive oil tastings with customers. We've posted our address and a few photos of the store at http://olio2gostore.wordpress.com/

We have two more formal tasting events planned:

Thursday, September 13 ~ Olive Oil and Bruschetta ~ 5:00-7:00 PM

Thursday, September 20 ~ Glorious Pasta of Italy, Booksigning with Domenica Marchetti, 5:00-8:00PM.

We hope you and your Don Rockwell participants will join in the fun.

DrXmus,

The big difference between the two will be how authenticity is addressed. Our products are sealed and labelled just as they left the estates and small producers in Italy. The "fusti stores" have olive oil that has been rebottled several times along the way: (1) into a tank or barrel for trans-Atlantic shipping, (2) once at the distributors, it is repacked into something that is easily shippable by UPS or FedEx, such as a 5L tin, (3) then at the store, poured into the stainless steel fusti, (4) then bottled for sale in the store.

We will look forward to your visit at Olio2go.

A long-delayed update from Olio2go on Hilltop...

We have three events planned for January. Tomorrow we will be serving festive winter crostini. On January 18 we will be serving balsamic vinegar on ice cream, and on the last Friday of the month, we will be serving pasta with truffle sauce.

Event times, store hours, and the store location map can be reached through the homepage at www.olio2go.com

Curious about the new harvest olive oils? Stop by any time to taste Frantoi Cutrera Primo, Fonte di Foiano IGP Toscano, La Poderina Toscana DOP Seggiana, Olio Verde Novello, Capezzana Olio Nuovo, Marfuga L'affiorante, Razzo from Fattoria di Monti, Gerbino Biologica, Fratelli Colletti, Frescobaldi Laudemio First Pressing, and Principe di Mascio Novello.

Let us know if you would like us to plan an event for your group!

[Just to let everyone know, Luanne was nice enough to ask me if she could post about their events. And I encouraged her to do so wholeheartedly, the limitation being the "twice a month" rule that applies to everyone. Luanne, I went ahead (thanks to darkstar's PM) and split your thread into Shopping and Cooking since you're now a bonafide, open business and not just looking for Employees. Congratulations, and thank you for posting here (I took the liberty of updating your signature file, hoping that will bring you some clicks and ultimately, some business).]
