MBK
Anyone have any dining suggestions in College Station or Bryan? I've been twice before, and had mediocre pizza and pretty tasty Tex-Mex (although I can't remember the names of the places we went). Am heading down again this week and would love to be armed with a suggestion or two.
Hannah
There aren't a huge number of non-chain options, but you might try Cafe Eccell (Mediterranean-influenced, decent pizzas/salads, good desserts) for dinner, or Brazos Blue Ribbon Bakery for sandwiches or kolaches. Chicken Oil Company has reasonably good burgers and chicken-fried things. As far as Tex-Mex, Los Nortenos in Bryan is pretty good, especially for breakfast. txaggie
I went to school at Texas A&M in College Station. I second the recommendation for Cafe Eccell. I love their BBQ chicken pizza. And Freebird's is an institution in College Station. The best burrito ever. Go to the original location in Northgate (319 University Dr.).

Hannah
Between this place, Slovacek's Sausage, and Snook Bakery, you could pretty much eat yourself to death in Snook, but you'd die happy.

This is the perfect food, deep fried bacon served with cream gravy, and nothing green in sight. What could be better?

What could be better?Well, maybe he could fry it in duck fat. I'm just sayin'.Honestly, I'm anxious to fire up the deep-fryer this week and check it out. ol_ironstomach
Didn't we do that once and find it just awful? Nope; big difference between chicken fried and just plain deep fried.
