Homeopathy (1796-), Samuel Hahnemann's Theory of Alternative Medicine Based on "Like Cures Like"

I find the whole idea of homeopathy ludicrous. Yet some people swear by it.

Can anyone cite information supporting the efficacy of little bottles of water?

My mother-in-law swears by it, but the thing is ...

1) She lives a *perfectly* healthy lifestyle aside from homeopathy.

2) She doesn't smoke, drink, has almost no body fat, and eats only organic foods.

3) She's nearly 80, and is still in better shape than people half her age.

The thing with homeopathy is, you can't drink alcohol and do it, so how is anyone ever going to know?

My impression with homeopathy is that it's akin to a girl who was born with a peaches-and-cream complexion, touting the virtues of some skin cream - sweetie, you're going to have perfect skin no matter *what* you do.

Really? I've never heard that.

If the theory behind homeopathy is true, it seems to me you could put a drop of wine into a large container of water and keep diluting it. You should be able to drink the water and get buzzed.
