"Sweetbitter" (2016) by Stephanie Danler - Novel About One Year as a Backwaiter at Union Square Cafe (?)

A light breezy novel chronicling the life and travails of a back waiter at what must be the old Union Square Cafe in New York (which is apparently in the process of moving and reopening on 19th Street).  Recommended if you like these type of stories.  Favorably reviewed by the New York Times.

Really? Light and breezy? Breezy maybe, because her style flows well, but I'd certainly think of this as literary fiction rather than a beach read. I adored it. Had been looking forward to it since the initial controversy about her insane advance and how much it had to do with her looks. Trust me, she earned it.

Perfect for those of us who love fiction as much as food!

I just watched "Counterpart" on Starz at my husband's encouragement. It was very well done but not really my cup of tea. My husband will be watching "Sweetbitter" at my encouragement!
