Tweaked
The details of every state dinner are always picked apart. In a way, its oddly fascinating to see how sitting presidents, first ladies, and White House staff choose to honor visiting heads of state. This is intended to be a (non-political) record of these dinners. White House state dinner honoring French President Emmanuel Macron (April 24, 2018). Hosted by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. Per Politico Goat cheese gateau, tomato jam, buttermilk biscuit crumbles and young variegated lettuces. Rack of spring lamb and a New Orleans-inspired Carolina gold rice jambalaya. Nectarine tart dessert infused with White House honey and accompanied by crème fraîche ice cream. Wines served: Domaine Serene Chardonnay “Evenstad Reserve” 2015; Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir “Laurène” 2014; Schramsberg Demi-Sec “Crémant” 2014
MC Horoscope
I wonder what the jambalaya is going to be like? That's a country dish, hearty, a meal in one -- not a side! What's going to be the meat or seafood in it? We used to have it with blackbirds, believe it or not! Didn't say I liked it! ha!
