  1. There were lines at most of the decent establishments within several blocks of CapOne Center.  I am guessing, many took the Metro to avoid the parking hassles with the road closures.  We were there early so the Metro was modestly utilized, but getting out was not a problem - we opted to leave and go directly home rather than continue the celebration downtown.

The area around CapOne was trashed.  When the streets closed it appears to be license to disregard disposing of trash in receptacles and smashing glass bottles in the streets.  As we walked out you could the glass breaking as people kicked bottles down the streets.  The crowd was mostly controlled, and I get people excited, just a weird way to show it.

  2. Ventured to the Herndon location yesterday as they came highly recommended by a good friend.  Ordered the 1/2 Spicy and 1/2 Soy Garlic - the Soy Garlic were excellent.  Wings were meaty, perfectly cooked and filling.  The Spicy, and I like spicy food will sneak up on you.  They are hot, after consuming a few of them, the true spice hits you, almost like a delayed, but escalating heat...I enjoyed them, but with tears running down my face.

  3. Obama's former education secretary advocates for idea that parents should pull their kids out of school until Congress passes stricter gun laws

    • Idea first proposed by former assistant education secretary Peter Cunningham
    • Arne Duncan agreed, calling the boycott 'brilliant' and 'tragically necessary'
    • Tweets came hours after 10 were murdered at Santa Fe High School on Friday
    • Duncan's tweet received hundreds of messages of support from parents

I thought this interesting - not necessarily realistic.

  4. Fairfax County Rejects Redevelopment Proposal for Phase One of Reston Town Center North

RTC North, which is located south of Bowman Towne Drive, will be developed through a public-private partnership. The first phase of development, blocks seven and eight, could include more than 420 residential units, an expanded homeless shelter and library, private commercial development and office space for nonprofit organization.

An advisory committee with representation from Reston citizens and senior county staff first recommended denying the proposal. The county will continue examining other development proposals in the coming months.

  5. I have to figure the "wall" whether new or existing has/will have plenty of cameras on it.  They will not stop a ladder or drone, but advance notice may serve as a deterrent.  Drones can be scrambled and range limited, hopefully part of any planning for as much $$ as this whole thing may eventually cost.

But it gave me an uneasy feeling, I was glad I didn't see a gun on him, if he did I would have gone to the police, but if he has a carry permit- what can they do, or would they do

For Clarification:  just remember if he had a gun exposed and it is not concealed, he does not need a permit in Virginia.  If he had a concealed carry permit, you would likely not observe the gun in the "open." Forgive if I am stating the obvious, but I know there are many misinterpretations regarding this issue.
