  1. Congratulations, very well deserved! I've known a couple of top tens, get ready for a fun year of the "rock and roll lifestyle" Also, the lickedy spit lunch is still the best deal in town, though I'm always tempted to have the glass of wine and birthday cake for lunch. Can't wait for the chipper to open!
  2. In the middle with the cigar and goggles is Robert Wiedmaier, chef/owner of Marcel's, to his right is R.J. Cooper Chef of Vidalia, and Roberto is on the far right. I need some help identifying the other 2, anyone know who they are? This is from the first years ride in 2004
  3. peaking of Urban BBQ have you ever had the Soul Rolls to dip in the redneck fondue, really good, but take 5 years off your life. As for wings, I'm always happy with the ones at Clyde's
  4. Share Our Strength Thank you to everyone that showed up for the event, especially the chefs, bar chefs, wine folks, and the outstanding volunteer committee that makes it all happen! Special thanks to Cathal and Todd from Restaurant Eve for coordinating the restaurants and drinks, and La Tosca for hosting an excellent after-party! Attendance was at its highest in the 19 years of the event at 1400, and we raised $115,000. We've already got a date for next year, April 2nd, and tickets are available online, tell your friends. If your interested in joining the volunteer committee that organizes, or know of anyone who might like to sponsor the event, please drop me a line.
  5. Chefs on Bikes Chefs on Bikes is coming up June 20th. We're looking for motorcycle riding restaurant ffolks, sponsors, and donors to participate. This is the events 3rd year. We'll be starting at Acadiana for breakfast this year, and finishing at Blue Hill Farm in Virginia for a party and cook-off! This is a fun event!
  6. Palena hands down is my favorite burger in DC, but when not in Cleveland Park, I'll usually drop into the nearest Steak House when I'm craving a burger, afterall, their all about the meat. Sam & Harry's has a damn good one!
  7. You can expect fifty or so restaurants including a few who haven't done it before like Marcel's and 2941. Cathal from Eve has been hitting the phones hard to get the area's best restaurants to participate, and Todd Thrasher has been calling to make sure that the libations are above par. The other thing you can expect is that 100% of your ticket price is going to go to the fight against hunger. this event supports the Capital Area Food Bank, Food and Friends, Community Family Life Services, the Children's Health Project of DC, and several international recipients. Next time you eat out in the district take the opportunity to support the restaurants that support their community.
