Ultimate Vanila Wafers are quite that..."A butter cookie with flecks of Madagascar vanilla beans" Notice the container is nearly empty.  Like no other vanilla wafer I've ever had!IMG_3719.JPG

Based on your recommendation, I bought a tub the other night. Delicious!

  2. I don't follow reality shows, but I do read Arl Now. Here's a summary from an earlier story about Oz that should answer your questions. This was in an ArlNow story June 22, 2016:

The restaurant, at 2950 Clarendon Blvd, is co-owned by Ashley Darby, a cast member on the Bravo TV show Real Housewives of Potomac. The show began filming its second season in April — a process that was expected to take 3-4 months.

    From an earlier story:

The restaurant serves authentic Australian cuisine, Darby said, adding that the food is new to many of the restaurant staff, including herself.

“We’re all learning as we go,” said Darby, who was crowned Miss D.C. in 2011.

Darby co-owns the restaurant with her husband, Michael, who is an Australian native and the co-founder of local real estate development firm Monument Realty.

Also, to make things interesting, I think this is a May - December relationship.

KN:  Been reluctant to go there in the cold weather as I didn't want to get "plowed" and have to walk around in freezing weather to boot!!!

Wait...doesn't getting plowed negate the freezing weather? I studied this very phenomenon in upstate NY in my University days.

Unless I have completely lost my mind, Pinecrest Plaza is where the Whole Foods was before it moved to Old Town.  There was a Staples right near by.

The Pinecrest Exxon is a very good gas station.

You're correct that it was the original WF that I knew of in VA. Actually it started as "Fresh Fields" and is the reason I still sometimes call WF "Fresh Fields".

    This conspiracy bullshit is outrageous.

I'm really trying to not get political about this, but it's a political topic. Has anyone checked to see where this crap started? None other than Breitbart. And some of these nutcases believe that John Podesta's political operatives killed Andrew Breitbart.

I though it was bad enough when I read that our future National Security Adviser's son tweeted:

“Until #Pizzagate proven to be false, it'll remain a story. The left seems to forget #PodestaEmails and the many ‘coincidences’ tied to it.”

Then I saw a tweet from the future National Security Adviser himself:

"U decide - NYPD Blows Whistle on New Hillary Emails: Money Laundering, Sex Crimes with Children, etc... MUST READ!"

I'm sure we'll see more dangerous behavior from these conspiracy morons. I just hope no one gets killed.

Would Flynn and his son, who have both helped spread this fiction, be open to lawsuits from the affected parties?

  6. Happy circumstance made it possible for me to eat at the first Citronelle in Santa Barbara. I knew it was special at the time. I had the pleasure of the Georgetown Citronelle only once. And I really liked Central the couple of times I've been. He had a distinctive style and gave DC something to boast about.

  7. I was taken there for the first time in ages. My ex and I, and another couple we are long time friends with. None of us go there unless it's with a group like this. They have a new chef, and I can't remember the restaurant he was with other than it began with "F". The hostess informed us he was a CIA grad, which isn't necessarily a guarantee of greatness these days. We started with drinks, I had the Limone Martini, Absolut with their house made limoncello. I can't remember the wine, I'm afraid. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese, which came with a hearty ragu, but needed more flavor. Others ordered the Spag & Meatballs, the Mussels, and the Gnocci. The mussels and gnocci were praised, the gnocci was not leaden at all. My friend ate all his Spag & Meatballs, so I guess it was good enough. The Caprese salad was nice enough, and I liked my Tiramisu. Service is eager to please, if a bit in need of polish. We had fun, at a window table while it was still daylight out.
