Those recipes seem to imply that buying the husks the morning of will not result in tamales the same day - that a minimum of 3 hours, and preferably a day, is needed for soaking.

I still can't understand why the best fine-dining value in all of Washington, DC is constantly empty.
The 3-course, $30 dinner offered at Corduroy's bar is unmatched in terms of (quality x value) - as far as I'm aware, nothing anywhere else even comes close.
The 5-course, $70 chef's choice dinner offered in the main dining room is not far behind.

Jonny told me the other day that, while they weren't ready to share a date, "you'll be wearing shorts."
I told Jonny and Ankur that I would arrange a DR gathering as the date gets closer. We can pack the place, right?

Reaction among the Spurs faithful has been disbelief. Mourinho just doesn't seem to be a fit with Levy's famously frugal attitude towards player contracts.

but you get like six or seven for $3.99

3.09 is correct on the fries, I was there yesterday. And if I was to have them I would split them with another party. But I still find that at my local outlet the fries are skimpy. However I find it amusing that some one should tell me or anyone what makes "more than enough" for a proper meal.
I'm challenging your "six or seven [fries]", not your appetite.

Burger at Shake Shack is > burger at Five Guys. Fries at Five Guys are > fries at Shake Shack.
Five Guys fries are fine, but they're never crispy enough. I love the super crispy crinkle cut fries at Shake Shack.

Beef Celery is probably my favorite here. I've also never had a watery order, even steamed.

Question asked in Philly by Phillies fans during the first half of the 20th century:
"Are you a Philles fan, or an athletic supporter?"

I'm still paying $10/week for the dead tree edition (which includes digital access).
Continuous subscription since September 1987.

Not a fan of East Dumpling or Taipei Cafe?
Just not on the regular rotation. There are a few things I like at both places, but pretty much only go when that item is the craving.

Oh, that's straight out of "The Martian" ("I'm going to have to science the *shit* out of this.") It was annoying and just plain stupid then, and it's annoying now.
That's the most quotable line of the movie. I love it.

Expensive and below average. Five Guys is better, and five guys is glop.
I agree with you on half of that - Five Guys is glop. Shake Shack, without lines, is pretty decent for a fast casual burger.

Roughly in order of frequency that we go (usually once a week at one of these places) here are the places I regularly hit:
- Bob's Shanghai
- A&J
- China Bistro
- Hot Pot Legend
- East Pearl
- Xi'an Gourmet
- Peter Chang's
- Super Bowl Noodle
- (when it reopens) Wang Manor [technically Derwood]
- New Fortune (for dim sum only, technically Gaithersburg)

From my friend Michael Bozzelli at Bozzelli's flagship in Springfield.
I would take a Bozzelli's chicken parm sandwich over all of them.
That's like responding to McDonald's new QP with "sure, but the burger at Central is better."

Dietle's was nasty. You could scrape tobacco smoke off the walls and tables.
Yes, but it was popular enough to keep going all these years. Had it not been for the fire, would have stuck around many more. I'm just saying that if there's enough business to keep Dietle's going, I'm sure Rockville could support a Chaps.

Rockville is a Bagel City kind of place. Not Chaps.
If Rockville can be a Dietle's kind of place, Chaps would do fine.

Did the Rockville location ever open?
I'm not sure it ever got beyond "looking for a site" stage.

I'll be seeing this in a couple of weeks with my mom, who was one of the original sponsors of The Dinner Party.

That makes sense - we always have a couple of doughs made when people come over for cookie baking. 1pm works for us!
-
I need to know about projected end time, too. We have sukkot gatherings to get to that evening.
