Maurizio Cattelan Is Taping Bananas to a Wall at Art Basel Miami Beach and Selling Them for $120,000 Each, artnetnews.com
Someone please explain to me how this ducktaped nearly rotten banana is art, and the fact that it not only sold once, but is due to sell three pieces similar in nature.

Why Moonlight’s Ending Is So Damn Powerful, Preston Thomas for medium.com
Getting a head start on what perhaps may lead to a Decade in Review thread. Moonlight still stands as one of the best films I have seen in the last several years. If you have not seen it yet, I encourage you to add it your queue.

I mean how can you argue with buttered noodles, cottage cheese, and jello salad as vegetables?
I can't quite explain it, but a jello salad ranks tops in my book lately. Stepping foot inside Town Hall in New Holland, Pa is a throwback in time for sure.

I don't know if this is the answer, but in Tom's chat last week, someone (maybe you! 😉 asked why he doesn't mention Corduroy much/ever in his chats anymore. His answer was that the menu has been unchanged for years, and the place/decor could use a refresher.
Speaking of Siesetma, if that now infamous couple would have dined discreetly at Corduroy, perhaps they would not have been exposed.
This isn’t the first time I have heard the lack of traffic as a result of Chef’s unwillingness to change the menu & the dated design of the space. Completing a design overhaul could be an expense he is not willing to entertain. The menu on the other hand, well...
I will always have a soft spot for Corduroy, & think its hands down one of the best in town. There are dishes that are unique to the menu that you can not have anywhere else in the city, and the fact he rarely changes the menu is like returning to a old familiar favorite. I think Corduroy just needs to be included in the conversation more frequently. Every time I visit the District, a stop at 1122 9th St is always in my rotation, and as long as the doors are open, that will never change.
Delish,
kat

Harmony can be found in Middletown, Pa. This spot was recommended highly by someone I met at a folklore fair. We instantly bonded over our love of food. Stepping into this space in the sleepy town of Middletown surprised me in the best possible way. It by far is the best Chinese food I have had to date. Visit with an open mind and hungry stomach. No where on the menu will you find General Tso's or egg drop soup. This is Chinese provincial cuisine. You will be feasting on a taste of X'ian.
I have been a few times, but always on my own. My next visit I hope to bring a group cause food always taste better when shared. Howard Dong, the proprietor shares his love for food, and makes you feel right at home once you enter. When I first met Howard, he warmly welcomed me as if he had known me for years. He enthusiastically describe each dish on the menu with historical detail without sounding like he was citing a book report or listing ingredients. If you happen to find yourself within 50 miles of the Harrisburg region, I highly recommend you visit.

We will see how a veggie "sausage" works in the stuffing.
I may suggest picking up “Field Roast” brand sausage. It’s delicious& I actually prefer to it’s meat version.

I would like to suggest a tamale-making gathering. I've never made them, and I understand the best way is to do a big assembly line with lots of hands on deck to mix, wrap, fill, steam, etc. I'm happy to have everyone at my house to do it. I'm thinking Sunday the 8th or 15th of December for it. Possibly Saturday the 14th. I figure I have space for about 10-12 people.
Anyone interested?

There is a tab on the page to ask your question.

Inkind dining credit has launched at Reverie. As far as I understand this is a frequent diner program in which diners prepay, and is powered through InKind. Is this the new trend for dining?

Amish Chicken on menu at Amenity & Commerce
I also noticed a $21 burger served with "Lancaster Amish Noble cave aged cheddar" listed on the menu as well. Interesting.

Amish & Refugee Meal Experience to take place this Saturday, 11/2.
A few months ago I highlighted a bit about Lokal Tour company. They are on course to change the landscape of what to expect for tours in Lancaster County. Unless you have been hiding under a rock, everyone is well aware of the state of immigration in this country currently is. This event may provide an opportunity to learn first hand what challenges immigrants face, and to hear their stories. I am gonna try to make this one, and report back what my take away is.

having said that I get rotisserie chicken from several Peruvian chicken places in the region. They are infinitely better.
I would gladly pay the premium price for Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken. The closet spot here is in Cockeysville.

Today’s dose of WTF. I’m on board with wine , and possibly cocktails in a can, but this is just ridiculous, IMO.
