  1. To me, there's a natural 8. Shenandoah Valley. This would be anything from Lexington to Winchester and help with folks looking for stops on the I-81 corridor. Waynesboro could be in this, or a Charlottesville grouping depending on which you prefer.
  2. Agreed that Charlottesville tends to be a different area than Richmond, but we are slowly seeing some Richmond transplants. Charlottesville even has its own ring of destinations as you leave the area that are not more than an hour out (Dr Ho's, Blue Mountain Brewery, Thai Siam, BBQ Exchange, Bavarian Chef) that can be worth a stop. Who am I kidding. I stop at all of them. Frequently. I'd also comment that a conversation on Charlottesville food could also include the Saturday morning (in season) City Market. Currently held in a parking lot just south of the downtown mall, there's a mix of local farms, produce as well as food stands with everything from crab cakes, to pancit, to dosas, to a number of folks making breakfast sandwiches with local sausages. There's a local debate on if the tacos at the market are better than those of La Michaocana mentioned above, but I'm a sucker for their fresh tamales. Yes, I live down in Charlottesville and could probably post a bit more.
  3. I stopped by for a really late lunch so I didn't get to pick out the sitdown menu. There was the wall with pictures of dishes as you entered the restaurant however. I also didn't scan the American menu or the lunch special
  4. http://www.deprogrammer.com/tasteofchina.pdf -- This is the takeout menu at Taste of China which I hastily scanned. Depending on what time you make it over there, I can probably attend this as the restaurant is located less than a mile from where I live here in Charlottesville. Also if anyone has any questions about how to get there or any other logistics about Charlottesville, feel free to PM or post.
  5. Howdy, I'm a student currently in Charlottesville, VA and was led to this board by your sleuthing and following of Peter Chang's new place in town. Originally from Wisconsin, I've lived in Minneapolis, Sarasota, Madison and now here in Charlottesville. I've traveled around the states a bit and always enjoy a new place to eat.
