porcupine
Sorry we couldn't make it Tripewriter brought home the stomach flu recently, and we seem to still be recovering I know this dinner was great -- someone must have pix! It was great - thank you so much for organizing, and hope you're both feeling better soon. Everyone at Liberty Tavern did a wonderful job. The place was full almost the entire time we were there, but all aspects of service were excellent, and the dishes were well conceived and well-executed. The Potomac River is like an event horizon for us, with RTS the black hole that draws us in. But Liberty Tavern has a good gravitational pull, too, so next time, we... oh, hell, I can't work this metaphor any further. It's good. Go. I really enjoyed this meal and felt that it held up respectably with other meals I've had lately, especially since it cost $40 for 5 courses without the wine. I can't recall the menu precisely but I particularly enjoyed the roasted artic char and the lamb necks wellington. Unfortunately I didnt have enough room to do more than taste the roasted pear and honeycomb upside-down cake. Rob
