Papi Pollo (formerly Pike Grill), Ballston - Closed

Recommended Posts

I just had a couple Salteñas ($2) at Pike Grill, and was wondering what the relationship was between this, El Pike in Seven Corners, Pike Pizza in South Arlington, Pike II in downtown Silver Spring, and Pike IV in Annandale. Are they all the same ownership?

Are there any more? Is there a Pike III?

Cheers,

Rocks.

NB - Beware of crashing down upon an unpitted olive!

Not sure of Pike Grills relation to other 'Pike' establishments, but the new chicken joint is run by the same people that ran Pike Grill - they just repainted the place and changed the menu.

It's called Papi Pollo, and still has the same phone number.

I'll be a guinea pig this weekend and give my feedback. As a frequenter of pollo a la brasa spots, I should be able to offer some comparisions.

Papi Pollo has been closed and under renovation for a few weeks now. Yesterday the third concept for this place in 1 year was revealed via a hand painted sign in the window. Wiinky's Fresh Grill (trademarked no less) will be the new name for this place. What type of food that entails, I do not know, but they do seem to be trying to improve the decor inside. The same management from Pike Grill and Papi Pollo appears to still be in control (the same fleet of Beamers and other vehicles still park there).
