DanCole42
I'm not sure if this should go in Intrepid Traveler, Help Needed, Farmers Markets, or what. Best guess! I'd like to sign my parents up for a CSA for Christmas, but was hoping to find one that delivers. They're very busy people, and I don't want the gift to be wasted by them not getting to their weekly pickups. They live in Montgomery County, adjacent to northwest Philadelphia. Thanks! Rovers2000
I've never seen a CSA in Eastern PA that delivers (I grew up in the Lehigh Valley) but this guide was passed along to me by a friend and seems like it'd be a good place to start: http://www.localfoodphilly.org/cg_csa.php While there aren't any that deliver, there are a few that have quite a variety of pickup locations. Best of luck.

Blooming Glen Farm is in Bucks Co., but not far from the MontoCo. line. It is a beautiful farm that does CSA and sells at farmers markets, including Headhouse Square. The owner reminds me of a younger Heinz of Next Step Produce, and the produce is just a beautiful. The site says that they are sold out for 2009, but I don't know if 2010 is available. http://www.bloomingglenfarm.com/gallery.html Next, I'd contact The Food Trust, which is similar to say, FreshFarm farmers markets. Their farmers offer amazing products throughout Philly and burb markets/restaurants etc., and some do CSA's http://www.thefoodtrust.org/ My posts on the market, incl. many of the producers: http://houndstoothgourmet.com/at-the-philadelphia-headhouse-square-farmers-market-may-31-2009/ http://houndstoothgourmet.com/at-the-headhouse-square-farmers-market-in-philadelphia-pa/
