guyacrossthehall
I'd love to help my girlfriend find tepary beans for a Sunset magazine recipe. (I think reading about foods she can't eat and plants she can't grow somehow keeps her sane and--more importantly--keeps her living here in Washington D.C.) Any dried southwest heirloom bean will do: tepary, Anasazi, or Rio Zape beans.
goldenticket
Check out La Cuisine in Alexandria. They have Anasazi beans (and LOTS of other kinds) on their website and in the store. If they don't have the other types, they might be able to order them for you.
Pat
Not helpful if you absolutely have to get them in NoVA, but you can mail order both tepary and rio zape from Rancho Gordo. They ship out fairly quickly, but it won't help if she needs them this weekend.

Any dried southwest heirloom bean will do: tepary, Anasazi, or Rio Zape beans. I have a pound of Rio Zape beans from Rancho Gordo I will gladly give to you, since I really don't like those beans. Send me a message to arrange a pick-up (I live in Adams Morgan).
