Savory Cafe, Takoma Park - Closed?

It just gets worse--they have stopped serving breakfast food on weekdays.  Now it is just bagels and muffins. 

Plus someone has BOUGHT Blair Mill Road and turned it into a private street and is charging $2 a shot to park.

How can you buy a public street and turn into a private parking lot?

Sigh...

Must start looking for other alternatives that are open at 7 am.

Try Savory over by Takoma Park Metro. This branch of Savory is clean, the coffee is better and the service is great. They have seating for about 20, and I find myelf migrating there with my laptop and some work in the afternoon just to have a different place to write. I've enjoyed it.

Savory Cafe really is one of our better coffeehouses - not sure I'm into "Let's Groove Tonight" (which is currently playing ... a touch too loud), but there appears to be a Korean hand in the ownership, hence house-fried dumplings served with fried rice, also pajeon on the Sunday brunch menu. This is a wonderful hut, with free refills on coffee, and I'm straining not to order the vegetable frittata.

It looked to be closed when I drove past yesterday and this was confirmed by a local resident lamenting the lack of coffeehouses in Takoma now.
