It takes being a President to get a reservation? Or does it make Jiro, the Ray's of Tokyo? :-)
thistle
Definitely one of the perks of being the president, I can't think of too many others.
Pat
Maybe Caroline Kennedy made the reservation?
Barbara
If the Japanese PM called the restaurant to say that he was bringing the Prez, Kennedy, and assorted others to dine on a given date, what fool wouldn't take him up on it? This is such a no-brainer.
lion
Of course, if President Obama and PM Abe were visiting they would welcome them. Joking aside, its pretty hard to get reservations now apparently. A Japanese friend who visited Tokyo last month, tried ahead of the visit as suggested on the website, to make a reservation. However within an hour of opening for reservations, the entire month was booked. In 2003, it was on my radar during a trip to Japan but skipped it for another place.
